Data Set Seeking

I’m taking Information Visualization and have been looking around for interesting data sets to work with for my first assignment.  Ultimately, I’ll probably try to work with a data set measuring information about thermostats and energy usage, but for this early assignment, I’m looking around for data sets of development, governance, peace and conflict information.

in honey

I’ve got my fingers in a lot of pots for the coming few months.  I’m working on the Virtual Tribunal — the work for the moment is mostly coordination.  Our team has grown, which is terrific for our project, and now it is really time to start making our system.  What this means for me [...]

A panel of ECCC officials from various branches of the ECCC and victims’ association representatives answered questions from an audience estimated at about 200+ at Pannasastra.
Some observations:

“Duch on Trial” program and TV for development

The East West Center of Berkeley is co-producing a weekly television show in Cambodia “Duch on Trial” — a show that recaps and explains the week’s events in the ECCC.  This show is averaging 5million viewers each week, meaning that 1 in 5 Cambodians sees this show.  This is encouraging, especially in light of the [...]

http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~changmin/virtualtribunal.htm
This Fall, I joined a project at Berkeley called the Virtual Tribunal.  The Virtual Tribunal is envisioned as an interactive online multimedia repository for the documents of war crimes tribunals from Nuremberg to the present. In addition to the documents of the court, the Virtual Tribunal will include documents related to the associated wars and [...]
